(Probablemente no.)

Some like it cold.

So, I am sitting here, waiting for a gel-filled eye mask to get cold in the freezer, so that I can put it on my face to help with the sinus infection (my eyes feel like they're about to fall out of my face) and I can't help but wonder why they can build a perfect microwave (ours is 1300 watts and has automatic reheat), but there isn't a consumer friendly, appliance-like cold machine (reverse microwave.) I want to put my ice pack in the freezer, push a button, and have it frozen in 30 seconds. It doesn't make sense. The natural state of all things in the universe is cold (I'm not an expert, but space is cold, so I'm told). How come we're so good at making things hot? How come we're so good at creating heat? (Fire, oven, microwave, blow-dryer, clothes dryer, etc..) And sure, we've got the refrigerator, the freezer, and the A/C, but they work so slowly. They coax the heat out of the thing and return it to its natural state in the universe.
It's hard to heat something slowly, I've noticed. You turn the stove on and put a pot of water on it and although it may take a few minutes, once the bubbles start rolling, the heat comes so quickly and so intensely, and it would take five times as long to cool the water back down as it did to heat it in the first place.
Now, before you start mentioning all of the things that do exist that would cool something off quickly, remember, I am not talking about the technology not existing, I am talking about it being readily accepted and available.
Imagine, instantly ice-cold soda, instantly frozen popcicles, instantly cold gel-filled face masks.
Trying to be colder myself. Trying to not be so hot all the time. Let me explain. I am easily anxious, stressed, worried, angry, sad, etc... Somebody pushes a button and thirty seconds later there is smoke coming out of my ears. I want to return to a natural state, get in sync with the universe. I want to be instantly cool (mellow, happy, accepting, etc...) But like all things that must be cooled, I have to coax the heat out, slowly, five times as slowly as it takes me to flare up into a frazzled state.
I have to be patient.

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in
ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor
fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
